Welcome to Ipswich West Moreton Auto Club


 

The Ipswich West Moreton Auto Club inc (IWMAC) caters for club-level motor sport including Autocross, Sprints,  & Short Circuit Touring Car Racing, on the dirt track at Willowbank Park, Champions Way, Willowbank. 

 

Our Club Patron is long serving Ipswich Councillor David Pahlke.

 

The track consists of two circuits : The Autocross track is 1km in length, 6m wide and has 8 corners of varying tightness. The Sprint track is 1.3km long, 8m wide and has 7 corners. The track surface is a decomposed granite construction.

 

During the year, two championships are run, one for Autocross and one for Sprints, where drivers compete individually against the clock in a variety of classes.

  • Working Bee weekend 22 April, details below

Working bee for IWMAC Saturday 22nd April 2017. 

 

Today we would like to complete the updating of the Safety barriers around the track as well as make a start on marking each corner with some new tyres.  This is only the inside of the corner to mark each Apex.

Anyone with a trench digger?  Also have to complete the wiring and remounting of the speakers for the new PA system.

 

Planned start is around 7.30am

 

If anyone can assist with machinery can you please let me know.

We have an online entry system. If you wish to enter an event, you will need to create a login.

Click on the members tab and follow the steps to do this.  

Note - The online entry is not an on line Club Membership application, it only relates to entering an event using the on line system. 

Then click on the advertised event on the right to create your entry.

 

Non club members can follow this process also, just enter your club details in the spaces provided.  If all else fails,  call John on 0437559527.

Standard Race Day Proceedures

Gates open at 7 am. Scrutineering and sign on from 8.00 am

Drivers briefing at 9.15

Sighting laps to check where the track goes, where the witches hats are positioned and to ensure the Dorian timers are good

Then line up on the start pad, wait for the Green light - then the red mist descend!.
