Championship Information


The club runs a Club Championship, Autocross Championship and Sprint Championship as well as class awards for Autocross and Sprints.

 

The overall Club Champion is derived from all points accumulated at any CAMS event, in competition with other club members.

 

Points are awarded 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 1, 1 etc.  (Provided there are three or more club members in the class) If only 2 or 1 then the points are 9, 8 or 9.

 

If you compete at an event where you are the only IWMAC member in a class you would receive 9 points.  If you placed 15th in class at an IWMAC event you would receive 1 point.

 

The Club Captain collates the points and keeps the tally.  The Club Captain will score any event that they know about, so if you compete somewhere, please email them with a results sheet or other information on the event and the score will be added.

 

Members generally score most of their points at our events, however competing at many events, and disciplines, will keep the scoreboard ticking over. Traditionally the Club Champion competes at a variety of CAMS sanctioned events in many locations.

 

Autocross, Dirt Sprints, Rally, Hillclimbs, Gatton/Pittsworth Sprints, Short Circuit Events, Motorkhanas and Khanacross are all events that our members competed at last year.

 

For Autocross and Dirt Sprints the points are accumulated in the events at our track.

In 2015, 2016 (and planned for 2017) there were 5 events of each type, so a maximum of 50 points over the year.

 

The Autocross and Dirt Sprint Champs are the highest point scores from any/all classes, so if a person wins in multiple classes, they may be the Sprint, or Autocross, Champ, but not be a class champ :)
